An engineer answers. Day or night.

Burst pipe, leak you cannot stop, no hot water, no heating, blocked toilet. Ring 01752 936 052 at any hour. You speak to an engineer, not a call centre, and we tell you what it will cost before anyone is sent.

Right now

Three things to do while we are on the way.

Most emergency damage happens in the minutes before the water is turned off.

Turn off the stopcock

Usually under the kitchen sink, in a downstairs toilet, or where the main pipe enters the house. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If it is stiff, do not force it; call us and we will talk you through the outside valve.

Switch the boiler off

If water is coming from the boiler or a cylinder, switch the boiler off at its power switch or fused spur and leave it off. Do not touch switches or sockets that are wet.

Catch and clear

Bucket under the drip, towels on the floor, anything electrical moved away. Open the cold taps downstairs to drain the pipes faster once the stopcock is off.

What we come out for

If it is one of these, call. Do not wait for the morning.

Burst or leaking pipe

Water through a ceiling, a pipe that is split in the cold, a joint that is let go. We stop it, then fix it properly.

No hot water or heating

Boiler locked out, fault code showing, pressure gone. Especially with children, older people or anyone unwell in the house.

Blocked toilet or drain

When it is the only toilet, or waste is backing up into the bath or sink.

Boiler or cylinder leak

Water from the boiler casing, the pressure relief pipe running constantly, or a cylinder weeping.

Overflow running

The pipe outside that will not stop. Usually a tank valve; quick to fix, wasteful to ignore.

Smell of gas

Ring 0800 111 999 first. Then call us to find and repair the fault once it is been made safe.

How the call-out works

Price on the phone. No surprises at the door.

You call and describe what is happening; a photo by text helps. We tell you the call-out charge for that time of day and a realistic arrival time. The engineer stops the damage, fixes it if the parts are on the van, or makes it safe and comes back. Anything bigger gets an itemised quote by email, with no obligation.

Covering Plymouth, Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge, Saltash, Torpoint, Tavistock, the South Hams, Exeter and into Cornwall.

Gas Safe. Anyone working on a gas appliance must be on the Gas Safe Register. Ours is 631663; the engineer carries the card.

Gas Safe Register

Insured. Public liability insurance to £5m. Engineers are DBS checked.

JCM Group

Water regulations. WRAS approved, so the repair is done to the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, not just made to stop dripping.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions answered

Do you charge more for a night or weekend call-out?

Out-of-hours call-outs cost more than a daytime visit. We tell you the figure on the phone before anyone is sent, so you can decide. If it can safely wait until the morning, we will say so and save you the difference.

How quickly can you get to me?

It depends where you are and what the engineer is already on. We give you a realistic time on the phone and keep to it, rather than promising a number we cannot hit.

Can you fix it on the first visit?

Usually. The vans carry the common parts: stopcocks, valves, tap and toilet parts, pipe fittings. If something has to be ordered, we make it safe and watertight, then come back to finish.

I can smell gas. What do I do?

Call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999 first. Open windows, do not use switches or naked flames, and go outside. Once it is made safe, call us to find and fix the fault.

I am a tenant. Can I call you directly?

Yes if your landlord or letting agent has authorised us for the property, and many have. If not, call us anyway: we will make it safe and contact them.

Do you cover the whole of Plymouth?

Yes, and the surrounding towns: Plymouth, Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge, Saltash, Torpoint, Tavistock, the South Hams, Exeter and into Cornwall. Tell us your postcode when you call.
